Shin-Etsu Raises the Bar at Suppliers’ Day

A steady stream of customers visit the Texture Bar.

Shin-Etsu Silicones invited cosmetic chemists to step-up to its Texture Bar during NYSCC Suppliers' Day. At the bar, customers experienced nine unique formulations ranging from Hydrating Night Mask with a light, fresh after-feel to our Bouncy Foundation with a unique playdough like rheology.

This flight of textures showcased Shin-Etsu’s silicone-based raw materials, including emulsifiers, elastomer gels, silicone powders, amino modified gum blends and UV dispersions. In particular, Shin-Etsu’s KSG-710  crosslinked silicone polymer swollen in silicone fluid which can produce stable emulsions with high water content and is useful in skin care, anti-aging and highly hydrating products. In addition, X-22-6695B (INCI: Jojoba oil (and) lauryl dimethicone/polyglycerin-3 crosspolymer) is a silicone crosspolymer gel swelled in Jojoba oil. It can be used not only as thickening agent for organic and natural ingredient, but also works as an emulsifier for making W/O Emulsion. The crosslinker for both of these materials are glycerin modified which provides good moisturizing effect.
